Margo was a dreamer. Look what she just dreamed up. |
| Contest Prompt Here, kitty, kitty.” Margo watched the tail of her tomcat disappear into thin air. “A magic cat. How’d you do that?” When she walked up to where her cat had been, she boinked her nose against nothing at all. “ A just cleaned glass window?” Her hands felt the flat surface, stopping when two fingers edged into invisible holes. “A door.” Margo jerked it open. There was her cat sitting on nothing and licking her fur. “There must be an invisible cat hole,” she said as she closed the door behind her and joined Tom. “I feel funny.” Margo found herself floating like she was inside a rising bubble. Her cat purred as it jumped onto her lap. “So. This is how it works.” The craft moved in the same direction she pointed her gaze at. Margo and her cat rode the sky. She settled it down by her swing set in her back yard. “Thanks Tom. Neat.” When Margo entered the kitchen her mom was busy making peanut butter and jam sandwiches for lunch. “Have fun, honey?” “I found a secret room. Tom and I went flying in it.” Margo accepted a sandwich and started munching on it. “Stop living in your imagination. You’d best keep that secret to yourself or people will think you are weird and won’t be your friend.” “O.K., Mom.” |
