For The Dialogue 500 contest. 500 Words. Not for young adults who still believe in Santa.

Santa smiled as the next child a young boy marched in confidently with his mother and father, all dressed in green sweaters with big white smiling snowmen covering the front torso.
"ho ho, hello and what is your name!" asked Santa

The young boy sat confidently on the bench beside Santa "You should know because Mum and Dad tell me to behave as Santa is watching!

Santa looked across at the parents both frozen with open mouths. "Oh well, lots of parts of the world I do send my Elves out to help me when I'm very busy!".

"Busy, Busy!" repeated the boy "Doing what?"

Santa smiled underneath his beard "Wow you are an inquisitive young man, well looking after the reindeers, and make sure the toys the Elves make are perfect for all the boys and girls!".

The young boy shook his head in disagreement "If your Elves make the toys, why do all my toys I have gotten from you, do not say made by the Elves in Lapland but by a company in China?"

Santa glanced across at Mum and Dad who were getting hot under the collar "Well we have so many toys to make we get the toy factories to help us!"

"Oh, so you outsource; what toys are made in Lapland?"

Santa could feel his cheeks begin to redden "Well err, the Elves make all the types of toys in Lapland but by the time I reach the States I have to use the ones made in other countries".

The boy looked sideways at Santa, crunching up his face in thought "If your Elves in Lapland can't make all the Toys, why don't you just hire more Elves or fire them and get the Toy companies to make them all?"

Santa snorted through his beard "Oh I would never fire my Elves, they do so much more than make toys, they are so busy I need to get the toy factories to help me".

"Thats enou-" but before the mother could finish her sentence the young boy continued "Then why don't the Elves stop making toys and leave it to the Toy companies if they are so busy!".

Santa bit his lower lip in frustration "I will certainly discuss it with the Elves at our Christmas day party"

"I'm sure Santa is busy Timmy, why don't you just tell him what you want?" Asked the embarrassed father.

"That's anther thing Santa, my parents have to give money to you to get me presents, why?"

Santa stared wide eyed at the boy, his mother with her hand over her mouth "Well er I, I have to feed the reindeers and feed the Elves and to pay the toy companies!"

"But Santa, that doesn't make sense because, if Mum and Dad know what I want, and they can buy what I want in the toy shop, why don't they just do it!"

"Right c'mon, we're leaving!" stated the horrified father.

"I'm so sorry!" whispered the mother.
