How to get your dream job even if your current boss doesn't want you to leave.

The Art of Office Chaos

It was a typical Monday morning at Fritz Financial, with the sound of keyboards clacking and the occasional sip of coffee filling the air. Becca, a data processor with a passion for law, sat at her desk, staring blankly at her computer screen. She had been working at the company for eight years, and despite her excellent work ethic, she had yet to reach the Legal Department, her ultimate goal.

As she pondered her career stagnation, Becca's mind wandered to the events that had led her to this point. She had taken classes, worked in a law firm, and had even landed a few interviews with the Legal Department at Fritz Financial. But every time, Loreen, her boss, would sabotage her chances, telling the interviewers that Becca didn't have a good relationship with her colleagues. It was a lie, and Becca was determined to put an end to it.

Just then, Loreen walked by Becca's desk, a smug look on her face. "Good morning, Becca," she said, her voice dripping with sweetness. "I see you're hard at work as always." Becca forced a smile, all the while thinking about how she could outsmart her manipulative boss.

As the day went on, Becca hatched a plan. She would make herself so undesirable that Loreen would be thrilled to get rid of her. The first step was to create chaos in the office. Becca carefully placed a chunk of chocolate on her desk, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. That moment arrived when Loreen walked by again, this time with a mug of hot coffee in her hand. Becca "accidentally" knocked over the mug, spilling milk all over the computer and Loreen's notes.

The office erupted into chaos as Loreen rushed to clean up the mess. Becca, feigning innocence, offered to help, but only made things worse. The computer screen went dark, and the keyboard was now stone cold, useless. Loreen was furious, but Becca just smiled, knowing that this was just the beginning.

The next day, Becca applied for a job in the Marketing Department, knowing that Loreen would have to give a reference. But this time, Becca was prepared. She had been acting so strangely, making mistakes, and causing trouble, that Loreen was more than happy to get rid of her. In fact, Loreen was amazing in her praise of Becca's "unique" skills, emphasizing how she would be a perfect fit for the Marketing Department.

As the interviewers left, Loreen turned to Becca and said, "You know, I think you'll really thrive in Marketing. You're just not cut out for data processing." Becca smiled, knowing that she had finally outsmarted her boss. She was one step closer to achieving her goal, and she had Loreen right where she wanted her.

The day of the Marketing Department interview arrived, and Becca walked in, confident and prepared. She aced the interview, and a few days later, she received the call offering her the job. As she accepted, she couldn't help but think about Loreen, who had unwittingly helped her achieve her goal.

Becca's new role in the Marketing Department was a breath of fresh air. She was finally using her skills to the fullest, and she loved every minute of it. And as for Loreen, she was left to deal with the chaos that Becca had left behind, wondering how she had managed to lose her best employee.

As Becca sat at her new desk, sipping her coffee and enjoying the view, she couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. She had played Loreen's game and had come out on top. And as she looked forward to tomorrow's judgement, a panel of executives who would be reviewing her work knew that she was ready for whatever challenges lay ahead. After all, she had just outsmarted the queen of sabotage, and that was no small feat.
