The World Weavers’ Championship is my effort to expand on where the other WDC contests leave off. Here we’ll tackle the set, the cultures and politics and the part your world plays in your story. That’s not to say that this is a strictly fantasy or sci-fi contest! This applies just as much to the fictional representations of contemporary or historical settings. Featured in

We sincerely appreciate it! -SMs](https://images.Writing.Com/imgs/writing.com/writers/badges/group-World_Weaver-2012120_11.gif)  Prizes Each of the 5 categories has a prize pool of  First place is a 50k awardicon and a Worldbuilding merit badge or equivalent GPs   Second place is a 25k awardicon or 25k GPs   Third place is a 10k awardicon or 10k GPs  The grand prize is a 75k awardicon (or GPs) conditional awards ▼ Rules  Contestants can submit entries any time after 5pm WDC time on 1st October.  This round is for short stories between 2,000 and 8,000 words.  Entries must be old items, created before 1 September 2023. New items do not qualify.  Items with awards from previous contests are allowed.  All item ratings are accepted.  Editting is allowed (and encouraged!) up to the deadline.  The deadline for entries is 5pm WDC time 30th November 2023.  Each entry must be linked in a post in this forum and presented in the b-item format {bitem:NUMBER}.  The title of your forum post must include which category your entry is for: fantasy, sci-fi, historical, contemporary, or supernatural/horror.  You can submit one or multiple entries, but only one entry in each category.  Prizes will be awarded to the best entry for each category and the best of those finalists. That means up to 6 prizes will be awarded.
