When I met my ex-fiance 4 years after I broke off our engagement

I lift my head,
See him up ahead
As I rush by
I wonder if he’s nothing but a fly

My mouth spits out
Freaked out silent shouts
The spinning of my mind
Sending me through the grind

I find my seat
Needing something to eat
If only I can think
Of anything but a drink

I turn my head
He’s staring at me instead
His lips are moving
And I’m not sure what he’s doing

Sadness,
Cutting me like a spear
His pleading eyes
Causing me to tear

This pain of thine
That’s transcended the passage of time
Is not his alone
But only mine to atone

“It’s good to see you”,
He said

I have nothing in its stead
