or 'How to make your offspring happy.'

“We're going to the seaside”,
screamed the twins at half past three.
“Go to sleep or we surely won't,
are you listening to me?”

Silence reigned for several hours
till breakfast begins and booms.
Then the children are getting ready,
and shouting in their rooms.

Both scampering and scurrying,
they gather all their things,
buckets and spades and little flags
towels, shoes, and rubber rings.

Piled in the broad back seat
most eager to be gone.
No, nothing's been forgotten
so get a move on Mom.

With puzzle books and comics,
and an iPad each, you'll see,
they'll be good as gold for at least
five minutes. Okay, so maybe, three.

Quite endless seems their journey,
though frequent stops are made.
Though they often need the toilet,
they really hate to be delayed.

Then the beach is sighted,
the twins shout out in glee,
sand and sea and sunshine
then fish and chips for tea.
