the police showed up

It was a raid
For being in an illegal
After hours joint

The only bar opened
After 2 a.m.

We were released
With a warning
And went back
To the bar.

Drinking until the cows
Came home.

And the legendary
Pink elephant
Paraded down the street.

With the lunatics
Pouring out from
the Cosmos bar.

Howling at the setting full moon
Cast its evil glow over the scene
Bad craziness in the air.
