"Heysh honey -hic- ," the man said with a a drunk smile on his face, "What'sha in the blankie sonny?"
The boy was reluctant to hand the child over to his father while he was drunk, but knew it would only make things worse to resist. The child handed the child over to his father and them man said, "Another little demoness to eat holes in my drinken money eh?"
The man yelped and tossed the child away from him and the boy leaped to cathc the girl and only just made it. The father jerked the boy back shouting, "Jeremy stay away from that thing! Its a f#*% demon!"
"No its not!" Jeremy said pulling free of his father's grip and picking up the child, "She's a perfectly normal human!"
"I know what I saw boy!" Jeremy's father shout advancing on him, "and that things a demon!"
"I'll be the judge of that Harold," the mother said stepping in front of her husband with a glint in her eyes that made him back off.
The mother pick up the child and pulled the blanket away from its face and looked down on it. The child had become a tiefling, more commonly called a half demon. The woman saw small horns protruding from her forehead just below her dirt brown hair. The baby yawned and opened its eyes revealing its sharp pointy teeth and piercing blue eyes. The mother stroked the childs head and it cooed happily a long pointed tail poking out from under the blankets. The child grabbed its tail and began to suck on it and the woman smiled down at it.
"It would seem you are both wrong," the woman said, "The child is a tiefling, niether human nor demon but both."
"I'm telling you Jezebel that thing's a demon and must be killed," Harold shouted.
"By quiet Harold," Jezebel said a dangerous glint in her eyes, "We will not harm this child but raise it with Jeremy." The Jezebel got to her knees and said to Jeremy, "Take your sister up to you room and put her in your old baby bed and protect her Jeremy."
"Of course mother," Jeremy said smiling and caring his burbling sister off to his room.
"I'm not letting you keep that thing in our house Jezebel!" Harold shouted moving to grab Jeremy only to find hiself pinned to the ground by his wife's foot.
"You don't have a choice in the matter Harold," Jezebel said pushing her heel into his neck and making him choke, "You know you can't beat me in a fight and my word is law in this house. Now get use to it or leave."
