This choice: Over the coming days, Ty Lee puts a little meat back on Azula's bones. • Go Back...Chapter #8Over the coming days, Ty Lee puts a little meat... by: Ace of Kings   Ty Lee had been with Azula for a week and already the princess was kind of showing some progress. Really all Ty Lee had managed to do was get Azula to start eating again by letting her convince herself that her subjects needed her to be strong. Dr.De Fang, who had taken on Azula's case, wasn't completely happy about letting Azula continue with this fantasy but since it did get her eating again she went along with it for now.
However this was were the good news ended, Azula still fought the orderlies every chance she got, she refused to talk to De Fang during her sessions except to insult her, and during one of her insane fits Ty Lee had to stop her from making herself throw up what she had just eaten. But still getting her to eat was the step in the right direction and De Fang and Ty Lee hoped to build on that.
It was on the seventh day since Ty Lee arrived and Dr. Fang decided to talk about that during her session with Azula that day, she didn't think she would get a response from her patient but she had to try. So there they were in Fang's office, the doctor in her chair and the princess strapped to the couch. The small room was painted whitish yellow and the main source of light came from the two windows despite the iron bars. Da Fang herself was mid thirty year old Earth Kingdom woman with wavy heavy black hair that she kept short so that her patients couldn't grab or pull on it, she had green eyes, and was kind of short with a rather large butt from sitting too much in a chair. But she caired herself with such dignity and grace that no one could logically deny that she wasn't a beautiful woman.
"So Azula, your friend Ty Lee has been with us for a week and I was wondering how you felt about her?" Asked De Fang starting the conversation.
"How about instead of you asking me about my life, I ask you about yours?" Came Azula's reply. "After all, since I'm the one chained up I have the most need to know if my captives are going to kill me or hold me for ransom."
De Fang was shocked by Azula's response, not because she thought they were ether planning to kill her or use her as a hostage, after all it was that kind of thinking they were trying to fix, but that Azula answered with more than a growl and an angry stare or a string of insults. Fang considered asking about this change in behavior but decided not to push her luck.
"So what do you want to know about me?" Asked Fang.
"Everything." Answered Azula. "Like who gave you that Earth Kingdom wedding band on your wrist? And why is someone from the Earth Kingdom even in the Fire Nation?"
"Ok fine. I'm from a town east of Ba Sing Se so we didn't see much of the war. When I was 18 I went to the Ba Sing Se academy for mental health and after I graduated I travelled taking care of the mental wounds caused by the war on both sides. I am now 35 years old and my wife Toph and I..."
"Did you just say my wife Toph?" Azula asked with confusion across her face.
"Yes I did, and not the Toph who travels with the Avatar. A different Toph."
"But you're a woman, right? How can two women marry?"
"Its allowed back in the Earth Kingdom, in fact it use to be allowed in the Fire Nation as well, until your grandfather outlawed it."
"Good for him. Two women falling in love is disgusting."
"Well, you are allowed to have your opinions about the matter same with everyone else. But lets move on. Toph and I moved here after the war because we wanted to settle down and your uncle offered me a job as your doctor."
"HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT TRATOR?!" Screamed Azula in both fear and anger at the mention of her uncle.
"I meet him during his travels after he retired from the Fire Nation army. It was I who helped him get over his son's death. He wanted to make sure that you got someone he could trust to take care of you."
"Iroh doesn't care about me. All his so called love and affection goes to his puppet king Zuko. I think he asked you to infiltrate this hospital so you can kill me and make it look like an accident!" Accused Azula.
"Of course not Azula. Your uncle cares and even loves you. He was just..."
"NO MORE LIES YOU PERVERTED FREAK! YOU PLAN TO KILL ME AND TY LEE SO THAT THE TRAITOR AND THE USURPER CAN RULE UNCHALLENGED!" Azula was now in a full blown tantrum and if it wasn't for the iron chains holding her down De Fang would have terrified, but after seeing the princess pointlessly struggle against these chains dozens of times the affect had worn off. So the doctor simply walked to her door, stuck her head out, and asked for the two orderlies outside the door to come, give Azula a sedative and take her back to her cell, Which the promptly did. De Fang then asked for Ty Lee to come in so they could talk.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
