The king started to shrink, down to the size of a woman, down to the size of a child, and then smaller still. As he shrank, his body hair got thicker, his hands and feet began to change as well, turning into paws. In mere moments the only sign of the king was his clothing in a pile on the floor, and a grey cat with black stripes sitting in the middle of it. It took a bit longer for Arthras to figure out how to move in this feline body, but he soon could move about with perhaps not grace but at least functionality. Now it was just a matter of finding that Grovani prince and following him until he revealed his true intentions.
Kelos turned his head to watch a maid as she walked by, swaying her hips as she went. "I'm quite enjoying the majestic views Traeven has to offer."
"You're terrible," Lucia said as she walked next to the prince.
"You say that like you weren't checking her out too."
"Arthras made himself as inconspicuous as possible, darting from hiding place to hiding place as he followed the prince. He wasn't sure who this woman in the armor was, but she seemed close to the prince judging from how they were getting along. Even with the better hearing his current form had, he was still a bit too far to hear what exactly they were saying to each other. Could that bastard prince have a mistress while courting Fia?! And he had the audacity to bring her along?! The fur on the back of the feline king stood on end at the thought. He needed to get closer.
"I'm allowed to, I'm a woman."
"Technically," Kelos replied. "Although I think I've worn dresses more than you have."
Another maid passing by looked away, trying to pretend she hadn't just heard Princess Fia's latest suitor admit to wearing dresses.
Lucia giggled. "You said it, not me." she then leaned in and whispered. "You looked better in them too, Princess."
Arthras couldn't believe his furry ears! Prince Kelos had just admitted to wearing dresses! This could be the key to ending this charade once and for all. He simply had to arrange an opportunity for Fia to catch the prince in a dress, and events would sort themself out. But first he needed to turn back to normal. Although... Maybe it wouldn't hurt to observe a bit longer?
