Prepare food for a party with her lady friends ...

"I know this might seem like an odd request, but today I need you to help me prepare some snacks for a party I'll be hosting tonight."

"What? Help prepare snacks? Did you forget how small I am? I can hardly lift a crumb. How am I supposed to--"

"Hold on, let me finish. You won't be doing any of the heavy lifting. I just need you to help with some details. You see, me and some other ladies at the office have been getting together at the end of every month just to hang out and talk about stuff. Last time Janet was the one hosting and she had this beautiful tray of food with these little designs carved into everything, the crackers, the cheese, the veggies, everything. And so I was thinking that you could help me do something similar. Seeing how small you are you could get really elaborate with things."

You look up at your mother's face, thinking about her request. You've never done anything like this before and you're not really sure how well it would go if you decided to help. The amount of time, effort, and skill this project requires seems out of your reach. But your mom really cares about this and you don't want to let her down.

Your mom peers down at you with her big soft eyes. "Please honey, I could really use your help."
