Chapter #6

Puzzle Pyramid

    by: Unknown
Steven was going for a walk through the park. This wasnt a typical activity of his, but he was getting bored. He is currently on "holiday" from work for 7 days and this is his second to last day before he goes back. He didnt do anything special these past few days, but he felt as though he could use a break and his vacation days for this year were going to expire.

So this is how a guy like me spends his vacation. Cleaning the house, watching tv, and now exploring the park ten minutes away from home. Steven thought to himself. Pathetic. He decided to tell his coworkers he spent this time exploring african jungles when he got back. That sounds more interesting.

He walked past a few joggers and a yapping dog and sat down on a park bench. He sat there tapping his fingers on the chair thinking of what to do next when he noticed a strange figure hobbling by. It was a man dressed in a really large tan over coat with the collar pulled up concealing his face. He must have been hideously deformed, Steven noticed he had a long musclular leg that revealed it self when he raised his right foot, but his left leg was much smaller which caused the hobble. He stopped suddenly and whipped one of his arms out from under the coat like he was going to pitch a baseball. Steven gasped when he saw the arm it was all burnt... wait. the man hurled an object into the pond. His hand wasnt burnt,it was just dark skinned, which was shocking since his leg was almlost caucasian.

The man turned and ran.

Interested, Steven got up to see what it was the deformed man was trying to get rid of. He walked over to the pond and saw a glimmer under the water. he took off his shoes and rolled his pant legs up and wadded through the chilly water to fetch it. He reached in and scouped it up. It was quite heavy. It was a strange polygon shaped hunk of gold. He went back to dry land, and set it on the ground behind him to inspect it as he put his shoes back on. It was covered in lines and partial symbols and looked quite valuable. He picked it up and tried to polish it and to his surprise part ofnit clicked and shifted. It could be twisted and changed around like some kind of rubics cube! This could be fun! That poor man must have gotten fed up with it. He sat there excitedly and began trying to solve the puzzle.

*Steven doesnt know it but this is an ancient magical puzzle pyramid with body swapping properties. If one was to complete the pyramid he would be imuned with unknown magical abilities, but no one has been able to solve it for 2000 years. Messing with the pyramid does have its risks or benefits. At while sovling it at complete random a beam of light can shoot out from any point in any direction. If it strikes another person, the welder will swap body parts where the light hit. There is no way of learning to control it. All Steven can do is twist the parts and gears and hope that the beam of light will work in his favor.*
