... It's been a long time since I've thought about my past human life, and to be honest, there's not a whole lot to remember. I wish I could remember more, but time won't wait for you to reach out towards your past. The farther time goes, the more out of reach they become, and now the only characteristic I remember about myself are my eyes: hazel green. When I first came here, or at least what I can remember, is I was just a Zorua. There was a Charmeleon there, too, talking to me about something. It was something like a proposition, and I can remember that part crystal clear... "If you do what I tell you, then your secret is secured, got that?" I could only agree at that point, since my body was banged up pretty bad for some reason. I wish I could know what exactly happened, but nowadays if I try and think about that, I start slowing down on the job. Charmeleon has since then evolved into a Charizard, and I myself am a Zoroark. My job is to collect money from Pokemon who owe Charizard. I don't ask why, I just follow through with the task. I asked about it once... Lets just say I'll never do something that stupid again....
My target today: a Lucario. Him and his family owe Charizard a fair amount of money, and I'm the lap dog picking up the money for him. "If you don't do what I say, I'll tell everyone who you really are, AND I'll return to scorching villages." His threat is what I hold dear in my memory. If I fail to measure up, then thousands may become injured. Or worse... Enough with these horrible thoughts, and back to business. I approach the Lucario residence, and bang on the door while shouting "Lucario, open up! Charizard tells me you owe big time!" Mentioning Charizard's name around here can cause an entire village to hole up, but most residents are submissive to the payments that they are forced to pay. Lucario opens his door and silently hands me a bag of coins. Judging by it's weight, it's not nearly enough to please Charizard. "Where's the rest of it, Lucario?" Lucario growls at the inevitable and comes back with a more acceptable amount. "That's all we have, Zoroark. Now leave us be..." I take the rest of the cash and say quietly "Well, if you know what's best for both of us..."
Within the structure, I see several Riolu hiding behind their mother. Seeing them like that was painful enough, so I look away and start walking. "I won't ever understand you, Zoroark. Deep down, I know you're as bad as Charizard." I wasn't in the mood to argue anymore. "Then I must be the softest side of him." Lucario was angry, but he couldn't do anything about it. He may have read my aura as well, seeing regret and sadness. "I... don't understand why you put up with him. Just quit, and leave everyone alone!" I turn around and look at him with no change in emotion. "I wish I could, Lucario. If I do, I can only guarantee things will get much, much worse. Good night." I took off in the dark night, getting back to Charizard as fast as I could. I lingered long enough. Charizard has set himself up at some ruins beyond Lava Springs, where he stockpiles his collection of coins for unspoken reasons. I hand him today's collecting silently. "Good, good work Zoroark. Who knows, maybe you should be my Hitman later? Heheh!" "Yeah, don't count on that. I'm getting more tired of this every day, and you know it."
"And I DO know, Zoroark. Too bad you and your secret is the only thing keeping you from freedom. However, that's not important right now. You'll actually be given a break from gathering debts. Two weeks at most is your break..." This was shocking news to me. I have never known any period of respite, and here he goes throwing it right into my face. "What!? Are you serious?" Charizard nods, and explains further in detail. "Rumors are going around, and that...
