Chapter #6

Joseph

You and the others were paralyzed with fear for a minute as you looked up at the seemingly infinite wall of flesh in front of the city. The sheer immensity of this thing was so mind-shattering that Tom had to look away from it for a minute, since he just couldn’t comprehend what it was.

“You….said we were going to an alternate version of Earth, right?” Sara asked nervously.

“I did. And the teleporter says we’re on some iteration of our planet. But… there’s definitely nothing on our world that looks like this,” you replied, looking at the gigantic object looming over the helpless city. The impact of whatever this thing was already caused entire sections of the civilization to crumble, it’s presence seemed to be heating the atmosphere to unbearable levels, and if you didn’t think of something fast, it would probably get worse.

The fleshy object then shifted slightly and very briefly lifted off of the ground. To the inhabitants of this universe, it would have barely lifted a fraction of an inch and most people wouldn’t have noticed it. But to the tiny city, it was another apocalyptic event. When the mass came back down, it created yet another hurricane that was far, far more destructive than anything on your planet. That, combined with the earthquake it generated, leveled even more areas and the disastrous effects of it could be felt throughout the entire city. Massive, gray landmasses were sent flying past them by the impact. The surreal imagery you were looking at would have been fascinating and nothing else, if it wasn’t for the fact that you were all in extreme danger.

“What even is this thing?” you muttered to yourself as you zoomed out as far as possible to reveal a young boy. He seemed to be around 14 years old and had light brown hair. His blue eyes stared straight ahead before looking at the ground. It almost seemed like he was looking at you through the screen. He looked like a regular kid, but you had to zoom out insanely far to even comprehend what he was. That meant he was much bigger than any living thing should be. In fact, he was comparable to the size of your planet, if not larger. And that massive, cataclysmic wall of skin that was more enormous than anything you’ve seen in your life was just a tiny fraction of his foot, which was resting directly in front of the city.

“Oh my….. This really is Earth, except….” you said, unable to even finish your sentence due to how existentially terrifying this was. The rest of your team was also now far more worried than they were before. None of them knew how anyone was going to get out of this.

“I know…. I know this looks bad, but we’ll figure something out, okay?” you tried to assure your team as you desperately looked around for some kind of device you created that you could use to save everyone. You didn’t know how much time you had left, but you didn’t want to give up and act like everything was hopeless.

As for Joseph himself……

You have the following choices:

*Pen*
1. Joseph has no idea that the city is in his room

2. Joseph is aware of the city's presence

*Pen* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
