Isabel could see Kaley and Carina talking as they picked up their tanning beds. As she watched, Carina said something that Isabel couldn't hear, but whatever it was it made Kaley laugh delightedly and clap Carina on the shoulder.
Something about the gesture made Isabel's hair stand on end. She stood up abruptly, grabbing for her towel and sarong. "We're leaving," she said.
Maria looked up from her tanning bed. "What? What do you mean we're leaving? We just got here."
"We're getting out of here before those two get back!" Isabel hissed in reply, glancing up again to make sure that Kaley and Carina were still distracted. "Quick, before they look this way!"
"Are you sure?" asked Maria skeptically. "They seemed pretty nice when they came over. I think you're just being paranoid."
"And I think that if you had been the one Kaley tried to de-pants in public, you'd be a little paranoid too, how's that?"
Maria paused with her mouth open, then shrugged, though she still looked unconvinced. "You might be right. Still sucks to leave so soon, though."
"Well..." Isabel scanned the pool. It was a big one, and busy today due to the weather. "We could go swim in the pool. They might just lose track of us, and we don't have to leave early."
