It was a risky move, but Cyrus knew that if he could make it off the bed and into the hole in the wall to his left, away from figure on his right, then he could stay hidden in the walls, unable to be seen or grabbed by the mysterious intruder. Cyrus immediately stood up on his feet and made for the corner edge of the bed, running on top of Augustus' jacket. Just as he took a jump down towards the floor, the hooded figure's head turned towards Cyrus, spotting him - the figure then made a dash towards the tiny man, arm extended and hand open to try and catch him.
The figure closed their hand into a tight fist, but Cyrus was able to slip right down past their palm, escaping their grasp. Cyrus landed on the floor by tucking his body into a ball and rolling to keep up the momentum he had gained from the jump, and once he finished his roll, immediately stood up on his legs and continued running towards the hole.
The figure started to move more fanatically, bending down on their hands and knees, trying to cut off Cyrus by slamming their hand down on him - Cyrus was too quick, however, able to bob and weave his body around the figures attempts to block off his path, all while making his way to the hole. This was a bad idea, this was a bad idea, this was a bad idea! Cyrus' mind raced.
Once Cyrus was withing a yard of the hole (or about an inch or two, given his tiny size), he made a dive towards the gap in the wall, escaping one last slam the figure made onto the floor with their right hand. Cyrus' body landed on its belly, and slid across the wooden floor, into the hole - once he made it into the hole, he slid a bit further into the wall than he was expecting. Apparently, the hole went in deeper than it looked. As Cyrus' slide slowed to a stop, he turned his body on its back and looked through the hole he just came through, and saw a large index finger try and make it's way through, but to no avail. Cyrus had done it - he had escaped the pursuit of the strange hooded intruder.
"Yes!" Cyrus exclaimed in excitement. "Take THAT, you hooded creep!" Cyrus could hear the figure getting up on its feet, followed by a swift kick to the wall. The resulting shock that came from the kick made Cyrus nervous for a few seconds, before he then heard the sound of footsteps getting further and further away. What a sore loser, Cyrus thought to himself, trying to catch his breath from the all the adrenaline in his system.
Cyrus laid back down on his back and closed his eyes, breathing deeply and slowly. He sat there for several uninterrupted, silent seconds - Cyrus thought he was alone, until he heard a soft voice say, "Hey, are you OK there, mister?" Cyrus' eyes shot wide open, as he was greeted by the face of a mouse looking over him. Cyrus, in shock, raised his upper body and scooted a few feet away from the mouse - the mouse too, also backed away in surprise. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" the mouse said frantically in a nervous tone. "I didn't mean to scare you!"
Cyrus took a long, hard look at the mouse that was in front of him, as as his breath started to calm, he started to realize that this wasn't just any ordinary mouse - it was, in fact, a mouse girl. She was half-mouse, and half-human, though she featured more prominent features of a human at a glance - her body was humanoid in nature, with two arms and two legs, though she had only four fingers on each hand, and three toes on each foot. She had a thin, naked tail sprouting from her lower back, and she had large round ears on each side of her head. Her nose was small, but pointed and pink, and the rest of her body was covered in hazel-colored fur. The last thing that Cyrus noticed about the mouse girl was her large, black eyes, and the fact that she was wearing only one article of clothing - a pale, bright yellow shirt that covered her whole upper body, and even her pelvis, though no pants or short from what he could see.
It was obvious from the way she was sitting that Cyrus had spooked her just as much as she had spooked him. Cyrus let the silence between them last for a few more seconds before saying, "H-Hey... sorry, I didn't mean to scare you - I just had a bit of a fright, that's all." The mouse girl sat in silence before she replied, stammering, "Y-Y-Yeah - I could see that. Who was chasing you, m-mister?" Cyrus looked at the hole in the wall he had come through and answered back in earnest, "Beats me... I couldn't make them out at all - just somebody in a long, hooded robe." The mouse girl put her hands up to her chest and said, "Creepy..." Cyrus nodded back at her and said, "Yeah... yeah, really creepy..."
"W-What's your name?" the mouse girl asked Cyrus in a hushed tone. Cyrus replied, "My name is Cyrus... Cyrus Merrifall." Cyrus stood up on both his legs and headed over to the mouse girl, extending his arm out with an open hand to help her back up. "What's your name?" he asked the mouse girl. She took his hand, and as Cyrus helped get her back onto her own two feet, she said, "M-My name is B-Bridget... it's nice to meet you, Mr. Cyrus." Cyrus chuckled slightly and replied, "You can just call me Cyrus, Bridget - I'm not that important." Bridget's eyebrows raised - she looked like she couldn't believe what Cyrus was saying to her. She said back to him, "But, I don't want to be rude! Oh no, maybe I should have said Mr. Merrifall instead..." Cyrus put his hand on Bridget's shoulder and assured, "Hey, don't worry about it - this isn't exactly a formal meeting, anyway," with a laugh. Bridget cracked a tiny smile and replied, "I suppose that's true..."
"Do you have a last name, Bridget?" Cyrus asked. Bridget responded, "N-No, I don't, Mr Cyr-- Cyrus! I meant Cyrus! Sorry, force of habit." Cyrus just rolled his eyes and said, "No worries - you'll get the hang of it." Bridget nodded her head before she fell silent for a few seconds. After the silence fell over the two, she decided to speak up and say, "I never met a human who was so small before." Cyrus looked down at himself, realizing what she meant, before responding, "Oh yeah... this. It's kind of a long story - Basically, I'm not normally this small. This is the result of a potion someone gave me - it should wear off by tomorrow."
"Oh, how awful!" Bridget said with a concerned tone in her voice. "Who would do something like that to you?" Cyrus put his right hand behind his head and just said, exasperatedly, "Well, like I said, it's a long story - the short version is that I've had a really strange day." Bridget grabbed hold of Cyrus' left arm with both of her hands and said, "It's OK - you can tell me, should you want to... I-I want to do what I can to help..." Cyrus was taken aback a bit by the girl's kindness in her voice. Wow, he thought, for a mouse girl, she's... she's got a big heart...
"D-Don't worry about me," Cyrus assured Bridget. "Like I said, the effects of the potion won't last - come sunrise tomorrow morning, I should be back to normal." Bridget's eyes widened as she said, "Oh, of course - sorry, I missed that part... I-I'm glad that you'll be OK." Just as she had finished saying that, concern came back to her face. "Well," she said, "In the meantime, you should stay here, with me... that hooded figure may come back." Cyrus nodded his head and said, "Yeah, that's a good idea - thank you Bridget." Bridget smiled softly, and motioned towards Cyrus to hug him. Cyrus was surprised, but also flattered - whoever this mouse girl was, she was very pleasant towards him. After the day Cyrus was having, he needed it.

Some time had passed, and Cyrus was finishing up telling Bridget what had happened to him up until they met.
"... Annnnd, that's how I ended up here - in this hole, with you," Cyrus stated. He looked at Bridget, and saw a look that appeared to be a mix of both confusion, as well as disbelief. Cyrus smiled and asked, "You don't believe me, do you?" Bridget quickly shook her head and replied, "Oh, nonono, not at all! I mean, no, I do believe you - that's what I meant! It's... just so strange... I've never once heard of such a spell that makes people... p-pass gas like that." Cyrus chuckled and said, "Yeah, neither have I - when Augustus told me that, at first, I thought he was just making it up. But, I saw it with my own eyes - those girls were different."
"So," Bridget replied, "What do you plan on doing now?" Cyrus looked at Bridget and said, "Well, wait for Augustus and Sarah to come back - and when they do, tell them what happened. Whoever that hooded person was, they seemed to want to me specifically - I gotta let them know about that, so that they're prepared should they ever try and get me again. I don't want it to be my fault that they were surprised." Bridget nodded her head silently, in understanding.
A few more minutes passed, when Cyrus heard the door to the room open - he peeked out the hole to see that it was:
