Chapter #5

Trade one problem for another

    by: ItsMe Author IconMail Icon
You gnawed the strings holding the bottom of the backpack together.
It took time, longer than you'd hope. The thread was stronger than they looked, even looked like they were double sown. You finally nipped enough that you could stick your head through. Misty was sitting at the back row of the class. To your right was a giant. However, he looked nothing like a cat. His muzzle was longer, his ears were flapped instead of pointy, his body looked a bit more broader. His fur was white with several black spots down his neck until they disappeared behind his shirt. You shove your head back in. "What the hell is that?" You whisper to Jade.
She stuck her head out and peered around before coming back in. "T-that's a dalmatian."
"What's a dalmatian?" Shiro asked, "Do they bite?"
"I heard conversations from Misty and her mom. Something about segregation in city blocks. I heard them mention how the school isn't separated from other species. We're going to find a lot more people here than other leonas." She moved aside. "Keep trying to break the thread."
You listen and continue to nip at the threads until your shoulders can be pushed through, you command "Okay one at a time, and feet first." As you place your feet through ready to jump the bell from earlier rang loudly. Shiro jumped and cried in pain, falling over and tackling you through the hole. You hung by something holding onto your coiled ropes. You looked up and saw Mike loose from his bindings, struggling to pull you back up. The backpack shifted and moved as the entire classroom got up and out. Luckily, Misty was the last to leave the class and your dangling body wasn't spotted. Mike's strength caved in and you felt your heart in your throat as you fell through the air. You bent your knees in time to avoided breaking them. Following behind you were thuds on the ground as the others slipped through. Mike picked up Shiro and dashed towards you. Jade and June dashed towards your position as well. All around you were giants walking through a large hallway lined with metal cabinets. You all huddled together as Mike tried to untie you. Suddenly you see Shiro was stubbed by a passing foot. You realized Mike untied you before anyone else, you take this advantage and lunge for Shiro...

You have the following choices:

1. You successfully saved her without harm

2. You were stepped on
