As Donna walked across the road and into the town center, she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Despite it being early evening, there were still enough people around. And everywhere the citizens were either unconscious or busy feeling themselves up, their heads attached to unfamiliar bodies. Whatever had happened, it spared no gender, age or race, everyone had been randomly swapped. Men with women, men with men, women with other women, adults with children. Donna took another look down at the shorter body she now had her head fastened to. She knew she was lucky, she was still a woman and roughly the same age as she had been. She could put up with the loss of a few inches.
"The look on Liz's face." Donna chuckled to herself as she walked through town. Even after such a life changing event, it had made Donna's day seeing Liz's head on a man's body.
Once she was confident that everyone had been affected by this head swapping event, Donna started heading back to the store. On the way she passed a teenage couple, who had been swapped with each other, busy making out... and enjoying the sensations that came with their new bodies. "Wow, young love knows no boundaries I guess." Donna smirked, before moving on.
When she walked back into the store, the familiar face of Laura greeted her, except her teenage head now adorned Helen's more mature body. She had been the first co-worker Luke had rounded up and sent off to the Help Desk. "Are you alright Laura?" Donna asked, patting the girl's arm.
"I... I don't know, this is... unbelievable!" Laura responded meekly, staring down at her new body.
"Stay calm alright," Donna smiled, "at least you're alive." she tried comforting the girl.
Instead of wandering away from the Help Desk, Donna decided to stay put. She knew that the other staff would be arriving there shortly, once Luke had finished his asigned task of rounding them up.
Suddenly the door leading upstairs opened and Liz stepped back through, looking more than a little flustered. Her attempts to contact her husband Eric had been fruitless, and she was worried. "Well?" Donna asked Liz, looking up into her face as she approached. Liz was now almost a foot taller than Donna since the swap, and her new anatomy was obviously causing her some discomfort, much to Donna's amusement.
"Eric's not answering his phone." Liz mumbled, burying her face in her larger hands.
"I'm sure he's fine." Donna offered a half-hearted assurance to her rival, not really caring.
Liz decided to try and put Eric out of her mind while she focused on what had happened to her and everyone else in the shop.
