Derrick woke up and walked into the kitchen. He wondered where everybody was. He looked over and saw a cat meowing. Knowing they didn’t have a cat, Derrick immediately knew somebody else was using the shapeshifting medallion. The cat jumped up on the chair and immediately shapeshifted into Katlyn. Katlyn smiled, “Hey little sis! I remember wearing that nightgown years ago! It was my favorite!”
Derrick knew Katyln was trying to rile him up. Derrick didn’t let it bother him. Derrick replied, “Atleast I wasn’t stuck in a bird cage for the past 4 days! I can’t believe you got caught sneaking out again?”
Katlyn shrugged her shoulders, “It wasn’t that bad. I like being a bird.”
Derrick asked, “Where are Mom and Dad?”
Katlyn answered, “Dad went to work. Mom ran to the store for some supplies.”
He then asked “What are you doing here? I’d figure you would have gone to hang out with that boyfriend of yours after being grounded for so long?”
Katlyn nodded, “I’m helping Mom today and modeling the rest of the clothes for that wedding. I’d love to leave, but Mom made me stay home to babysit you while she is gone.”
Derrick rolled his eyes, “’Babysit?”
Katlyn nodded, “In case you forgot, you are stuck as a 4 year old. It’s illegal to leave you home alone.”
Derrick laughed, “Hmm…so you are my babysitter? That means you have to make me breakfast! Ha ha!”
Katlyn smiled, “You are right. I can make you breakfast!” Derrick was surprised at how fast Katlyn agreed. He imagined Katlyn wouldn’t help him at all. Katlyn then smiled big and bent down to pick up Derrick. Derrick was confused, “What are you doing? Put me down!”
Katlyn set Derrick in a high chair and buckled him in. She slid the tray over and giggled, “Just give me a few minutes sweetie. Breakfast will be ready soon!”
Derrick knew Katyln was trying to get the best of him. She must have brought the old high chair in from the garage. Derrick complained, “Is this really necessary? I can just sit at the table!”
Katlyn replied, “I don’t want to have to clean up after your mess. This will be much easier!”
Katlyn put food down on the tray and filled a sippy cup. Derrick glared at the cup and then glared at Katlyn. Katlyn giggled, “What? At your age, you will spill everything! Trust me! Its for the best!”
Derrick decided not to complain anymore and just eat. While he ate, Katlyn shapeshifted again into a bird and flew around the house. Derrick’s cell phone was on the counter from yesterday and heard it ring. Katlyn flew to the counter and shapeshifted again. This time, she shapeshifted into Derrick’s normal 18 year old body. Derrick glared at her, “What are you doing?”
Katlyn giggled, “Just having some fun!” She answered Derrick’s phone with his voice and spoke for a minute. She hung up and laughed, “Jessica is on her way over to see you!” Katlyn corrected herself, “I mean to see ME.”
Derrick was furious. Jennifer was his girlfriend. Derrick demanded, “You can’t do this! I’m gana tell Mom!”
Katlyn winked, “Ok. Then I’m gana tell Mom about the time you shapeshifted into HER and went to parent teacher conferences after you got suspended!”
Derrick was stuck. He didn’t want Mom to ever find out about that. Derrick rolled his eyes “Fine! But don’t do anything to embarrass me!”
