The feathers

Summer groaned while Mouse sniffed. "No tickling please. We were just checking if..." Mouse went on but stopped in her sentence when she saw the stern look of the otherwise friendly looking woman's face. "I will only say this once. I ask a question and the one I ask, or both, answer it directly. I don't want to hear lengthy explanations or other lies. Did you get that?" Summer and Mouse both nodded. Both hands of the woman dashed forward and scribbled furiously over the poor girls' feet. Shrill screaming echoed through the room, followed by silence. "The only answer to that question would have been Yes, Madam'' Again, did you get that?" This was followed by almost identical girlish voices confirming this.

The woman smiled again and placed both hands again on the girl's feet, making them squirm. "That is much better. Now I will tell you how our correction method works. One of you will read out a text. After each paragraph the other one will repeat it. For deeper understanding she will get tickled during this exercise. After that we will switch." The woman continued to smile. "We will see now many paragraphs will be necessary." With a stern look towards Mouse again. "This will also improve reading abilities." Mouse glanced back but bit on her lip.

"What do you want to start with? Feathers, fingers or something else?" Summer looked over to her younger sister, sitting with their hands tied to chairs next to each other with their bare feet resting fixed on the table. "Feathers" she murmured. "Yes, feathers" said Mouse in a low voice.

Fine. "The ... girl will start reading."
