Well, I guess I would swap shoes with you."
Taken aback, Josh instinctively replied. "I accept." Out of nowhere, a blinding light enveloped the room.
Josh did not know exactly why Jenn wanted his shoes. He immediately felt a difference once the light cleared the room however. He was no longer wearing socks and felt discomfort and tightness in his feet, and he looked down to see he was wearing a pair of brown high-heeled sandals that were bigger than originally to fit his bigger feet.
"Wow! It actually worked!" Jenn exclaimed.
Josh was too surprised to say anything, but he glanced at her feet to see that she was now wearing his red and white sneakers (but smaller) that were accompanying a pair of socks she didn't have on before.
"At least I don't have to wear those heels now. They're so uncomfortable."
"Then why did you put them on in the first place?" He questioned.
"Because, I was rushing out the door to get to your house so I wouldn't get caught in a downpour. Those where the only shoes I could find."
"I can see why you wouldn't willingly choose these." He said.
"Try to walk in them." Jenn suggested, not able hold back a smile.
"Um... how about I don't."
"Just try it. I want to see what happens."
Josh figured nothing terrible could happen, so he just got to his feet using his chair as support. He took a couple of steps without falling. "Hey, this isn't so ba..." He started before losing his balance and falling flat on his face. He was not hurt, but the experience was embarrassing.
Jenn failed to hold back her laughter. "Are you okay?" She asked.
"Yeah. I'm not hurt, just embarrassed." He announced, turning over from his stomach to his backside,
"Don't be, that was your first try. It wasn't that bad actually."
Josh tried to get back up, but wiped out again, this time landing on his back.
Josh left the door a bit open after letting Jenn in, and after his second time falling, someone knocked and opened it fully. The person was his sister, Courtney, who started to laugh at the sight of seeing her brother on the ground. "Geeze big bro, you can't walk in those heels for your life. I don't know why you even try anymore." She said before closing the door.
Josh's initial reaction was confusion. "Why did she act like me wearing heels was so normal?" He asked.
"I'm not sure. I guess your power makes the people around you think it's normal."
"I guess you're right, there's no other answer that makes sense."
"I think it's cool though, we won't have to hide swaps from other people." Jenn said while standing up.
"Speaking of swaps, can we swap back our shoes now?" Josh inquired, finally getting back up to his feet,
"I'm not sure I want to yet. Your shoes are much more comfortable."
"But, I can't walk in heels!" He remarked, pointing down to the heels.
"You won't have to, I have some sneakers too."
"But still, if I ever have to wear them I won't stand a chance of staying upright."
"Well I'm not ready yet. But I'm nice, so I'll cut you a deal."
"What is it?" Josh's facial expression went from angry to hopeful very quick.
"Two options. One, we can swap our skills so you'll be able to walk in heels. Two, I'll give you back your sneakers in exchange for another swap."
"What's the other swap."
"I'm declining to say at this point."
"Wait, but if we swap skills I won't be able to play my video games." Josh pointed out.
"Oh well. That's my final offer, you can pick from one of those two options." Jenn commented, folding her arms.
