As her mum was thinking about what to do next, Alice continued to look around the store that her mum was now in charge of. She'd been inside Wilko stores for as long as she could remember, in fact when she was growing up, she was able to spend most of the time in the store with her mum, which conveniently saved money on a babysitter. Going through the aisles, she was surprised by the initiative that the staff was taking. Usually when she watched the stocking crew doing their work, they seemed to be down and almost depressed about working. "Hello, there." A male voice called out from behind her. Alice turned to see a tall bloke with the name tag on his chest reading 'Steven'.
"Oh, hello." She returned the greeting. "Why is everyone working so hard?" She wondered as she continued to look around to see everyone eager to get done.
"Oh that?" Steven chuckled. "Liz said that we're able to leave as soon as everything gets done."
"That sounds pretty cool." Alice replied back. "Well, I better start going back. It was nice to meet you."
"Likewise." Steven returned as he waved her good bye and went back to work, anticipating getting done and going home to play the latest game that he got.
"She was nice." David answered with his American accent prevalent. "Wasn't that Emma's little one?"
Steven nodded his head. "Yeah, she's a quiet one."
*** Several Aisles Over ***
"I can't believe we get you tonight." Ellie gushed when she saw her American co-worker walking into their aisle. Ever since she saw him on her first day, she'd been in love with his deep blue eyes and his slight accent. But her hopes were dashed when she saw the ring on his finger showing that he was married.
"Yep." Josh replied with a smile, completely oblivious with the feelings that she conveyed towards him. "So Phoebe, what's on the agenda tonight?"
"Oh, we're just setting up the new display." She answered back showing the dozen shelves that still needed to be put into place so that the merchandise could find their way onto them.
"Looks like I will be the work horse tonight, huh?" Josh chuckled slightly to himself.
"Yeah, but we'll try and help when we can." Ellie added with a nervous smile.
