Tom makes a successful wish...but what for?

As the words left Tom’s lips, the glow coming from the stone reached its peak. Bill could feel that something terrible was about to happen. One arm covered his eyes, and the other reached out for Tom’s hand. He took a blind swing, hoping he’d knock the stone away, and felt nothing but air. As he cursed himself for the mistake, he heard Tom finish saying his wish.
