Austin looked up suddenly as he felt a hand pull out the back of his pull-up.
“Still dry!” His teacher remarked, “good job.
Austin was a bit embarrassed to be checked like this - none of the other kids in his class needed to be checked outside of naptime. But at six years old, Austin was the oldest kid in his room, and the only one still having regular daytime accidents.
He nodded at his teacher, hoping she’d leave him to his game. But instead, she tapped him on the shoulder.
“I think it’s best we tried to use the potty, don’t you?” She hinted gently, gesturing towards the bathroom door.
Austin grumbled, but held her hand as she had him stand, upset at leaving behind the Lego farm he was in the midst of building.
As she starts walking him over to the bathroom, Austin:
