Chapter #5

Elaine

Fate always seemed to make the two cross paths, even when one of them was as slippery as a snake at times. The pair of childhood friends had ended up meeting in the abandoned subway for their respective requests. And now, the two of them are wandering the area full of rubble and abandoned trains together.

Van was hired by the CID to retrieve a suitcase that a monster stole from one of their agents. Elaine, on the other hand, took a request that needed a bracer to exterminate said monsters. It was no wonder the two encountered each other. It was awkward at first, but the tension between the two eventually died down... somewhat.

"The monster should be right down there." Elaine Auclair pointed toward the path that lead to a large room with her blade.

"Roger." Van nodded as the two picked up their pace, running toward the room.

'Van?"

"Yeah?"

"I hope you know I'm not letting you run away from me this time." Van smiled wryly, scoffing half-heartedly as the two made their way to the source of their shared target.

"I know. Might as well go out for a drink if you plan on talking to me." Elaine hummed before the Spriggan suggested, "Bermotti's?"

She nodded as the two arrived at the room. Their eyes wandered around the spacious area, searching for the extermination target. There were no signs of the monster or the suitcase of Van's client. As the two took a step forward to search, they heard a howl as the ground shook as though something has landed. A demonoid monster arrived, holding the suitcase in its right hand.

"A demon? Damn, how did that get here?"

"It is concerning, but let's leave the questions for later." Van agreed with his childhood friend as the two activated their shard field. The Spriggan and bracer darted forward as the two dodged the energy slashes made by their foe. The two struck their target in a rhythm, both evading and attacking at the same time in perfect sync. A bitter grin crossed the bluish-black Spriggan's visage, remembering something from the past as they knocked the monster back.

Elaine ran forward, Van following from behind as she noticed a crystal orb embedded at the center of its chest. Assuming the object as its weak point, the Sword Maiden enveloped her sword in light. The Spriggan's nose twitched, a chill running down his spine as his eyes widened.

"Elaine, wait!"

He was too late though. With a cry, Elaine thrust her blade straight to the orb as the demonoid roared in pain as a blinding light filled the abandoned subway. Van grunted as he covered his eyes to protect them from the illumination, feeling his consciousness being pulled out of his body. With a groan, everything went black.

Consciousness soon returned to the Spriggan as his eyes fluttered open, feeling the cold surface of the stone floor pressed on his back. A groan parted from his lips... but it didn't sound normal. Instead of the usual deep tone that comes out of his mouth, his groan just now was a bit soft and feminine. The realization caused him to sit up in shock as the man felt a jiggle in his chest area and strands of flaxen hair covered her face.

"What the hell—"

His heart dropped when he heard the voice that came out of his lips, his brain going into overdrive. The voice, the weight and jiggle on his chest, and the platinum blonde hair he now had... If he concentrated, he felt an emptiness a man should never feel on his crotch. He swallowed a lump in his throat as he slowly placed his hands on his chest.

Boing Boing Boing

Softness overtook his senses as Van dipped his head down. His eyes went as wide as plates at the sight of large mounds stuck on him. The familiar green dress a certain childhood friend of his always wears for work was now clad on his body. His cheeks slightly turned red as he slowly got up from the ground, legs wobbling due to the thigh-high heeled boots he now wore.

Van looked around for the demonoid but no traces of it were in sight. The only thing left in the room was the suitcase... and his unconscious body.

Sighing, the Spriggan started to make his way to his old body, blushing while ignoring the... sensations his current body was making him feel.

"I can't believe I'm in Elaine's body... So, she should be in mine." The former man grumbled in embarrassment. Usually he would keep his cool... but he turned into Elaine! Someone... someone... very dear to him.

It was just weird!

The Spriggan crouched down beside his old body, holding it by its back. Van tucked a strand of his blonde hair as he tried waking up the Maiden in his vessel, gently patting her cheek but to no avail.

You have the following choices:

*Pen*
1. Carry his body out of the abandoned subway

2. Wake his body up with a different method

*Pen* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
