Chapter #6

Laura's Wedding Day

    by: Saracen1187 Author IconMail Icon
Friday morning, inside Wilko:

"I can't believe my best friend is getting married tomorrow. And before me as well!" Rebekah humphed slightly, folding her arms and pretending she was annoyed, but really she was so happy for Laura and Dylan. "Oh well, I suppose I can forgive you, since I'm gonna be your Maid of Honor. Tomorrow will be the best day EVER!" she then gushed, almost jumping up and down and taking Laura's hands in her own.

"Bloody hell Becky, anyone would think you're getting married instead of me." Laura giggled. "And I'm sure you would have been married already if things had worked out with Sebastian." she lamented.

"Yeah well, wasn't to be, he didn't want to live in England full time with his family being in Spain. So it wouldn't have worked, we both knew. But enough about me, you're gonna be a blushing bride in just a day." she smiled broadly, before leaning in and hugging her bestie, giving her a peck on the cheek.

Laura swallowed hard, nodding in acknowledgement. "I know, and I'm really nervous. My stomach is doing flips." she admitted.

Rebekah held her hands tighter. "Everything is sorted Laura. We have the best wedding dress ever for you, the church and banquet hall are both booked, all the guests are invited. It's all going to go perfectly. I won't let ANYONE ruin my best friend's wedding day. she said, being defensive of Laura.

"I love you Becky." Laura mumbled genuinely, hugging Rebekah again.

There was a slight pause, then Rebekah asked the next question on her mind. "So... who from Kwik Save is coming?"

Laura smiled at her best friend. "Pretty much everyone now that Emma and Elizabeth have made up." she told her. "And I love them for doing that, now there'll be nobody missing from my big day." she grinned.

"Hmm, we'll see how much Becca approves of her little sis being there." Rebekah commented.

Laura just shrugged. "Becca already promised me that there won't be a scene."

"Well, we'll see. Ooh, by the way, Charlotte finally got her bridesmaid dress adjusted to fit around the bust properly. So we're three for three." she said, referring to Charlotte, Mona and Maddy, who were Laura's three other bridesmaids.

"Oh thank goodness. Can't be a bridesmaid short." Laura commented with a smirk. "I so want everything to go well."

Rebekah rolled her eyes and patted Laura's arm. "Everything will be fine. Though not sure how we'll pack everyone into the church and especially into the banquet hall afterwards." she chuckled. "Now come on, let's get back to work for now, the delivery won't put itself on the shelf."

With that the two friends exited the Goods In area and went back onto the shop floor, heading up the escalator to the second floor to resume working their cages full of stock on the seasonal department.
