"I have no idea where Suzuka is. She left thirty minutes after you did and didn't say where she was going" said Melfina.
"Probably doing an assassination" said Gene.
As soon as he spoke, there was a knock at the door.
"It's unlocked!" yelled Gene, who didn't want to move from the couch. For one thing, he enjoyed Melfina caressing his belly. For another thing, he was just tired. It had been a long day. Tracking down that priestess wasn't an easy job. Gene had gone to Fred Luo for help and Fred had pointed Gene in the right direction. The priestess was at a bar, supposely waiting for someone named Jim O'Haver. Gene had tricked the priestess (and her assistant) into the alley beside the bar. That's when he ate them both. Gene had eaten the priestess first. He licked his lips as he remembered eating her not an hour ago. The priestess had made an excellent meal and the assistant made an even better dessert. Gene burped as the door slowly opened.
It was Suzuka, which sported a huge belly, and had a kid in tow. The kid was probably no older than Jim Hawking was, but he was probably taller than Jim by a good foot. The boy had blond hair and a small tattoo on his left arm. The tattoo was a red rose, probaly not 12 inches long. Suzuka brought the kid over to the couch in front of Gene.
"Bringing home strays?" asked Gene as he looked at the kid. The kid said nothing, but looked wide-eyed at Gene's belly.
"Not exactly" said Suzuka. "I saw him snooping around outside"
"Let me go!" said the kid. "Rose won't be happy with you now that you have me"
"Who's Rose?" asked Melfina.
"My employer you might say" said the kid dryly. Melfina's belly shifted slightly, making the kid jump.
"What were you doing here?" asked Gene.
The kid said nothing.
"Tell us kid, or we'll feed you to our kitty" said Gene, meaning Aisha of course.
"I was sent to check you guys out" said the kid. "Rose may need some help"
"What kind of help?" asked Gene. "and for how much money?"
"Name your price" said the kid. "Rose has heard all about you guys and so have I"
"Has she?" asked Gene, patting his belly.
"Yes" said the kid. "she needs some people to...disappear"
"When?" asked Gene.
"Tomorrow if possible" said the kid.
"Where do we meet this Rose?" asked Suzuka.
"I'll take you guys to her" said the kid. "what do you say? Will you help?"
