Kate froze as she saw the giant 4-year-old. She had her back turned to her as she picked up some her stuff she dropped. Kate saw this as a perfect opportunity. Quickly, she put on some dropped Barbie clothes. Not being picky, she put on a pair of jeans and a pink t-shirt. It was itchy, but she didn't care. She laid down on the floor and froze her body in a doll pose, including that smile. Clare turned around. Kate held still and fought every urge to get up and run. Clare picked up Kate around the waist and brought her to her face.
“Wow, what a cool Barbie!” Clare said.
When she was done picking up her things, she went out to the car with Mac. Clare was strapped into her child safety seat, holding on to Kate the whole time. Besides Clare and Mac, Kate’s boss, his wife and Clare and Mac’s 16 year old sister were in the car.
