The moon rises and sets, the day births, night dies , the cycle repeats.
The sound of strum and drum and cymbal and flute echoes in the cool air between sunrise and moonset
the magical time of mist and realms blended, where veils are thin
and memory and time have no meaning.
A haunting song streams from the heavens
enchanting every ear that hears,
indeed every ear, whether it chooses or not.
like a spell cast with no cunning or purpose
merely to enthrall to entertain and tell the tale.
She sings , she does, as mermaid's siren voice
from across the waters and clouds of the air
where elfin ships sail and fairy lights twinkle
before landing on beach and glen in the misty morning
unseen by the mere human eyes of this realm '
whose eyes still sand filled and bleary with sleep
would not give credence to things that shift in the mist.
still the song goes out to bring the day
to call forth the allies, those with ears to hear
and know the beauty of change
in season, in day-night, in growing
and the gift in it all.
As the song shifts in its tone
this moment now becomes memory
and indistinguishable from dream.
Joy rises with the sun
and as all beings seen and unseen
take their places, the scene is set
and what light will bring
as the last leaves of the moon fall
no one can guess or imagine-only
that the song faint heard in that mystical moment
leaves an echo that happiness is choice
new every moment.
life is a romance, a dance not to be missed
by allowing memory of what is gone
to be the filter through which to live today.
As the moon gives way to the new sun
and only fades in day,
until it's turn to shine.
The cycle repeats.
The song goes on for ears that will hear.
